“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” –
– Anthony J. D’Angelo
“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
– Oprah Winfrey
“Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.”
-Georg WIlhelm Friedrich Hegel
“It is obvious that we can no more explain a passion to a person who has never experienced it than we can explain light to the blind.”
Ex. “Why do you knit?” “Isn’t it just cheaper to buy a sweater?”
It seems there is always someone who wonders about (or questions) my choice of hobbies. Sometimes a person is simply curious and wants to know what makes me tick. Other times, the questioning comes across as a little cynical.
I do what I do simply because I enjoy it. I don’t necessarily look to save money, but I certainly welcome it. I don’t do it specifically to make money even though I’m open to selling items. I like to create things because they are unique, made with love, made specifically to my size or to my liking. I create for self-expression and because I have a passion for learning and creativity. I craft, sew, knit, etc. because it’s fun!
I’ve had all these components (beads, chain, etc.) FOREVER. I had an idea in my head, but couldn’t get it out onto the table.
Come Saturday, I just *knew* how to do it and banged it out.
I’m sorry I can’t give you a list of all the components (like I said, have had them forever), but I can give you a general idea…
- Silver-plated chain
- Silver-plated chain (large circles)
- Silver-plated jumprings
- Silver-plated bead caps
- Silver-plated head pins
- Glass beads
- Swarovski crystals
- Glass bead “chips”
- Crystal/Metal links
- LOTS AND LOTS OF PATIENCE!!! I kept dropping stuff and had to rig a necklace rack, with two hemostats and two boxes of beads, weighed down with pliers that I wasn’t using LOL
This picture doesn’t do it justice (but, I didn’t look *too* bad in it, so I’ll use it LOL) and I have to shorten it a bit, but, I finished something.
And it’s about d@mn time!
“In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can imagine.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw
“To bring anything into your life, imagine that it’s already there.” – Richard Bach
“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.” – William Arthur Ward
Rarely do I make a necklace with earrings to match and when I don’t I’m always scrambling for a coordinating pair of earrings. Here, is a simple look I created in copper with chain and crystals.
